[classy=apptitle]Personality[/classy][classy=appinfo]Alto is a very contained person. It would be an easy mistake to call him calm or even-tempered, but in truth Al has a hatred and anger that burns cold. As such, it's difficult to gauge when he's angry, or even when he's passed the point where he plans to kill you.
Although Alto knows and accepts that he has a rage inside him that will never go away, he has not quite accepted that rage is not him in his entirety. He possesses a strong, unconditional love for his young siblings, that he has difficulty showing, and a sense of duty that outstrips his capability for hatred. Also, despite what his reputation as an assassin may have people believe, Al isn't always dangerous. In fact, though he has an extremely low tolerance for incompetence among his peers, he prefers to act with more self-control, and bottles in his irritation to use or bring up at a later time. He does express his irritation though, though sharper words and a more impatient tone, which is enough to unnerve some. In general though, he prefers to keep in good terms with those of his level and above, often being particularly considerate when speaking to them just out of practicality.
Al is someone who likes control and having a bit of power, but would never attempt to be completely on top, which makes him a particularly 'loyal' subordinate. Alto really only considers himself loyal in the sense that he has no reason to betray those he's working for, not necessarily because it's an inherent trait of his. He prefers to have direction without having to produce it himself. There's a good part of him that can be described as lazy. Though he is nothing if not skilled at his job, and almost always gets results, Alto tends to be one who does things in his own way, often times cutting what he deems 'unnecessary' corners in getting to his goal. He is not one for chases, for example, and should a target of his run, it's very unlikely that he would give chase right at that moment. He'd prefer to come back later or wait until he found the guy again. He's also not one for tedious work.
Between his skill, his lack of ambition, and his more charming ways when dealing with higher ups, Alto has secured a well-ranked position in his syndicate as an assassin and general 'damage control', and it's a position that he has no intention of giving up.[/classy][classy=apptitle]Skills/Weapons[/classy][classy=appinfo]Aikido - Alto, when in a physical fight, practices the martial art Aikido. It's a very defensive technique that relies heavily on joint locks and directing an attacker's momentum resulting in a flip or throw with minimal effort. Though the technique has the ability to snap an opponents jointed area, such as the wrist, Aikido is very solidly a defensive art and does not have any offensive striking moves. Alto uses this when attacked and is pretty skilled in its execution. However, as he prefers fire-arms, he is not as well trained in this art as some others would be.
Marksmanship - Al is a far better shooter than he is a fighter, which is to say, he's very skilled at shooting. He has a quick-draw time of .4 seconds, and can usually exceed his weapons accuracy range by at least half, sometimes more, hitting very precise targets. This skill carries over to a general firearms mastery, as Alto is able to use most weapons of this time, including handguns, machine guns, and various rifles.
Piloting - Al is a competent pilot, but far from being considered gifted. He has suitable training in MONO Ships, and very basic training in Mother Ships, which means he does know what he's doing in them. When it comes to more daring or difficult feats, however, Alto is lacking compared to those who spend most of their time in the air or space.
Smith & Wesson Model Model 620-7 Classic Revolver - Made 2052, or 19 years ago, as a S&W 200th anniversary classic revolver. It bears closest resemblance to the Smith & Wesson Model 29 Revolver (1955), with an 8⅜ inch barrel length, and uses .44 Magnum cartridges. It has a 50 foot effective range, which Al can usually triple in predictable conditions. Alto has used this gun since he was nine years old, and has kept it well functioning.
Remington Model X720 Sniper Rifle - A relatively new military-grade rifle, put into production in 2069. It bears a good resemblance to the M24 SWS (1988), except with a 41 inch barrel and total 58.5 inch length. It fires classic .338 Lapua Magnum rounds, at 45 rpm, 2,000 mph (crossing a mile in 1.8 seconds). It has an effective range of 5280 feet, or one mile, with it's telescopic lens, which Alto can typically overtake in predictable conditions.
MONO Carrier, Warbird Model II - Equipped with a machine gun attachment on the right and a laser gun attachment on the left, the Warbird II is meant to be high powered. It has a carrying weight of 2 tons, and can maintain an even speed even with that weight. As Alto is not the best pilot by a long shot, the lack of maneuverability in this craft doesn't come as a hindrance, and Alto instead focuses on the firepower aspect. In a MONO Ship, Al is an above-par shot, however he prefers handheld weapons to ones on a ship.
[/classy][classy=apptitle]History[/classy][classy=appinfo]Alto grew up in a small city on Venus, 28 years ago. His father died before he was born due to his involvement in the Venus black market trade, and because of that Al and his mother struggled financially for most of Al's childhood. Al was a reserved child, and naturally bitter over his circumstances which he found to be less fortunate than others. Al was more aggressive as a child, though, as well, and got into far more physical skirmishes with other boys than he chooses too in the present.
Despite their financial situation, when Alto was seven his mother took in two young children who were orphaned due to black market activities in the area as well. Though they started off rocky, Al did become attached to his two younger siblings, as well as very protective of them.
A little after adopting the two kids, Al's mother moved them out of the city and out to the more rural parts of the planet. It was out here that Al and his siblings began learning Aikido, at a local dojo. The move was in an effort to find a safe place for her children, but danger lurks everywhere,as she would soon find out. When Al was nine he saw his mother killed by some thugs trying to rob her small convenience store. Though his first reaction was shock, his next reaction was anger, and after telling the police what he'd seen, his first action was to go out and steal a gun. The gun he stole happened to be a retro-classic revolver, that had just recently come out. Al never did get to avenge his mother's death, however, as the thugs were caught fairly quickly, and so Alto was left with the burning anger that simmered down to a deeper hatred. This only increased as the years went by.
As three newly orphaned kids, life was tough, and even more so in the community housing that Venus used for such cases. Al and his siblings spent most of their time out of it, and quite a bit of time still going to the dojo to learn defensive techniques. Though Al was taught along with his siblings, he didn't have much interest in defense. Most of his time, while his siblings were training, was spent shooting, usually at trees or cans. It was used as a method to relieve stress, which has made firing weapons connect to soothing emotions for Al. He initially shot things out of anger that he wasn't able to kill the man that shot his mother, but it eventually became rather cathartic. Starting from age nine, Al shot at something almost every day, stealing more cartridges when the original pack of them ran out within the first few months. He became better and better with practice and a certain natural talent.
The first man he ever shot was a man harassing his sister. The action came naturally as a protective measure, even though he knew his younger sister was capable of defending herself if the man attacked. He'd been fifteen at the time, and hadn't completely thought out the ramifications of his actions. A bounty was put out on him, however, and that was when he knew he had to leave in order to protect himself and his siblings. That year was the last he physically saw his siblings, though he tried keeping in contact.
The life of crime fit well with Al, in a way that he might have said he got from his father, if he'd known him. He already had a distorted moral compass, and didn't feel killer's remorse in the slightest, even when he did have a change to really think about what he'd done. He found it actually satisfying to end other human lives, as he was never fond of mankind, aside from his own family, from the get go. Though he tried to stay practical in what he did in order to stay alive and out of jail, when he was 19, his criminal exploits and already above-par marksmanship drew the notice of a high ranking member of a Matian crime syndicate.
He was initiated in the next two years after a brief mentor ship by the senior member, and after that his bounty dissolved itself due to the syndicate's connections. He's been an assassin for the syndicate for 8 years now, which has gained him a pretty high ranking. He still sends money and items to his siblings, but has generally lost touch with them in that time.[/classy]
